The layered quality of this work is repeated in the presentation of each page of information overlapping the next, denying the viewer from following the text to the end of the page. The work becomes frustrating for the viewer, who can catch a few words of clarity but are denied the ability of reading the text in its complete context.
Through creating the work to have a visually disorienting effect, the blurring and warping of the text forms the barrier to the text that allows me as the presenter of the information to assert the power of control over my audience. As a creator I am able to use the structure of the this visual, constructed barrier to the text to call attention to the role of the viewer and how that relationship is related to the maker.
